Operations Manager - Metals Recycling - Base Salary to 160k/year - Portland, OR
- Our client, a large Metals Recycler, is seeking an Operations Manager (internally titled Nonferrous Recovery Manager) to oversee the collection, processing and treatment of ASR. The Operations Manager will be responsible for metal recovery and stockpiling processes and managing the Nonferrous Recovery team.
- In this role, the Operations Manager will also conduct continuous process analysis and improvement to ensure maximum metal recovery.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures environmental compliance in accordance with company, federal and state policies.
- Documents accidents or incidents & Develops Corrective Action Plans
- Provides a Safe environment & ensures departmental Safety Training is completed
- Oversees operations & maintenance across multiple shifts
- Provides Leadership to the nonferrous department across multiple shifts
- Purchases chemicals, fly ash, or cement pumps and or parts necessary to maintain proper functioning of the plant
- Prepares scheduling for major projects
- Stays abreast of technological innovations regarding metal & plastic separation
- Spearheads continuous improvement for the facility
- Monitors the equipment needs for the facility
- Communicates with Regional Commercial Teams to ensure material purchase quotas are being met for the facilities
- Maintains & monitors accurate material & yard inventories
- Implements & Managed Quality Control Program
- Operates Facilities within established Operating & Capex budget
- Interviews, hires, trains laborers, welders, etc
Qualifications:
- 5+ Years of Metal Recycling, Mining, Aggregate or related industry Experience
- College Degree Preferred
- Project Management Experience or specialized knowledge is a plus
- Comfortable working in the elements
- Knowledge of Heavy Equipment Operation
Compensation:
- Compensation for this role includes a base salary up to 160k/year, plus an annual bonus, and relocation assistance if needed. Our client also offers competitive benefits and 401k.
