Responsibilities As an Operations Engineer - Union with Hines, you will maintain the operation and maintenance of all building equipment and systems. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC equipment Troubleshoot operational failures and restore building services with minimal supervision Supervise maintenance work as needed Qualifications Minimum requirements include: High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution Four or more years of commercial HVAC or related experience Interaction with employees, visitors, and contractors with professionalism and diplomacy Understanding of company policies and property procedures Successful completion of the Hines “Engineering Training” program for the Building Engineer role Proficiency in two or more categories of the Engineering Assessment Guidelines and ability to train others in these areas Proficient computer skills for managing engineering programs Ability to interpret instructions from manuals, oral, or scheduled formats Experience with testing equipment such as multi-meters, pressure and temperature devices, airflow meters, and leak detectors Knowledge of basic hand tools and proper use of power tools and safety equipment Mathematical skills for solving building operation issues Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to remain calm in emergency situations When applicable, obtain necessary city or government licenses, e.g., EPA CFC Universal Certification within six months of hire or promotion Compensation: $69.52/hr per union contract Closing At Hines, we strive for excellence as a leading global real estate investment manager, driven by our belief that real estate is fundamentally about people.
