POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education - Bachelor's degree in Education or related field, with a focus on science or a relevant subject area.
Experience - 3 years of online teaching experience
Other Requirements - Must possess or have the ability to possess a Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Identity Verified Prints (IVP) fingerprint card by the time of hire.
- Must live and work in Arizona
- Must Possess or have the ability to posses a valid Arizona Teaching Certificate or eligibility for reciprocity, supported by relevant transcripts by the time of hire.
Preferred Requirements - 4 or more years of teaching/online teaching experience
ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS - Develop and deliver engaging content and skills instruction in science, encompassing various scientific disciplines, principles, and methodologies.
- Encourage critical thinking and independent analysis among students, fostering the expression of original ideas and perspectives.
- Provide personalized instruction, including small group sessions, to address the diverse learning needs of students and student subgroups.
- Assess student academic growth, prepare final grades, and maintain accurate academic and administrative records.
- Collaborate with colleagues to identify and address student needs related to learning, health, and attitudes within the online classroom setting.
- Adapt science material and teaching methods to create relevant, sequential assignments and lessons suitable for online instruction.
- Develop courses and supplementary materials that align with state science standards and promote student engagement.
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior conducive to positive interactions and productive learning outcomes.
- Communicate regularly with parents and school staff to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns or questions.
- Participate actively in faculty meetings and engage in ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Administer standardized testing in accordance with state requirements and school testing protocols, potentially involving travel within Arizona.
- Develop and deploy courses within the Learning Management System, ensuring timely completion and alignment with established standards and deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently within tight timeframes and adapt instructional strategies to the online learning environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and the wider community.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with students and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in utilizing technology for instructional purposes, including online teaching platforms and educational software.
Working Conditions Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, crouch, bend, walking up and down stairs/ramps, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
