Job Description : We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented individual to lead our preschool music program in Spanish. The ideal candidate will bring joy and creativity to the classroom, using music to engage children in learning Spanish in a fun and interactive way. This role involves planning and leading music activities, teaching songs, and incorporating musical instruments to enhance the children's experience.

Responsibilities :

• Plan and conduct music classes for preschool-aged children in Spanish.
• Teach a variety of songs and musical activities that are age-appropriate and engaging.
• Integrate musical instruments and movement activities to enhance learning.
• Encourage children's participation and foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive learning experience.
• Communicate with parents about their child's progress and musical development.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during music activities.

Qualifications :

• Fluency in Spanish and English.
• Experience in early childhood education and/or music education.
• Ability to play one or more musical instruments (guitar, piano, etc.).
• Strong singing and musical skills.
• Creative, energetic, and passionate about working with young children.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create a warm, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.

Preferred :

• Previous experience teaching music to preschool-aged children.
• Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood music education.
• Degree in Music Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field a plus. 

Schedule :

• Part-time, flexible hours.
• Classes typically held in the morning.

About Intiwasi Spanish Immersion School:

Intiwasi is a non-profit Spanish immersion school that serves the Los Angeles community in the Pico-Robertson area for children from ages 2-7. Currently we serve elementary levels TK-1st grade in addition to our preschool, and are looking to grow one grade each year through 5th grade. In Quechua, the language of the high Andes, Intiwasi means the House of the Sun. Our children reach for the sun in all they do.
