Position Summary:
This versatile position supports both clinical and administrative functions, playing a key role in ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. The ideal candidate will be friendly, proactive, and experienced in both medical assisting and front office operations, particularly within a primary care or GI setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical (Medical Assistant duties):

Prepare patients for examinations and procedures specific to Primary Care and GI
Obtain and record vital signs and patient medical histories
Assist providers with GI-related procedures and routine primary care visits
Administer injections, vaccinations, and medications as directed
Collect and process lab specimens, including stool tests and blood draws
Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for each patient
Administrative (Front Office Receptionist duties):

Greet and check in patients in a courteous and professional manner
Answer and route incoming calls, manage appointment scheduling
Verify insurance, process co-pays, and assist with patient intake
Handle patient check-out, follow-up scheduling, and referral coordination
Maintain accurate records using EMR system Epic
Support billing, authorizations, and office inventory as needed
Qualifications & Must- Haves:

Must possess a Medical Assistant diploma
Prior experience within a healthcare setting required (2-3 years required)
Experience in Primary Care or Gastroenterology is a strong plus
Proficient in EMR system E-Clinical Works
Must be open to working occasional weekends when needed by the physician
Must be open to traveling to surrounding clinics when short-staffed
Excellent interpersonal and multitasking skills
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to patient care
