B46 Race Car Manufacturing Engineer

We are an independent car builder specializing in BMW race cars and build an incredibly fast, efficient and refined product that meets and exceeds the quality of the major OEM’s. 

Our B46 Race Program incorporates the best of Kaizen style manufacturing with the flexibility of being a small and versatile team of passionate and hard working individuals. We’re looking for one key person to act as our Manufacturing Engineer. This position combines your passion for Motorsports with your love for creating complex and technical products. As our expert you will work to plan and coordinate the resources of all departments to bring together the efficient operation of our B46 Race Car Factory. 

What is a B46?

The B46 is a purpose-built race car developed and manufactured by STROM Motorsports. It's designed for club-level racing and aims to provide a turnkey, supported racing experience like factory-built race cars, but with a greater driver focus and at a more affordable operating cost. Make no mistake though - every thing about this car and its design is high level and professional. As our order backlog continues to grow we are looking for a capable individual to manage our builds.

Qualities and Skills: 

• Thorough understanding of automotive electrical, fluid and mechanical systems
• Prior knowledge and experience in motorsports is preferred 
• Strong aptitude toward organization and planning 
• Ability to work through long term projects with multi-tier assembly process 
• Computer literacy as necessary to effectively interact with software utilized to track parts and processes
• Both task and goal oriented, capable of completing task while keeping the larger goal in mind
• Excellent communication and understanding of leadership fundamentals
• Must enter this roll with the intention of becoming an expert in every facet of the B46 Race Program
• Experience working with basic hand tools and understand the operation of fabrication equipment

Roles and Responsibilities:  

• Continual learning about the B46 race car and all its subsystems, parts and the build process. 
• Create production timelines for specific B46 Chassis deliveries in coordination with sales
• Coordinate Production constraints with all department heads: 
• - Engineering - Fabrication - Mechanical - Electronics - Procurement/ Parts - Fabrication - Accounting - Sales
• Assist Procurement in working through supply bottlenecks or quality issues in terms of technical knowledge related to the parts
• Work to reduce general production bottlenecks and create efficiencies
• Ensure communication is happening within and between departments
• Manage resources to balance the production speed of each department
