Editor – Rogers, AR City Lifestyle

Position Title: Managing Editor

Company: Rogers City Lifestyle

Location: Northwest Arkansas

Employment Type: Part-Time with Flexible Hours Based on Business Needs, 90%+ remote.

Compensation: $1,200 per Month. 1099 position.

Monthly rate based on current page count (as we grow the rate grows) plus annual bonus opportunity.

Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Publisher/Owner, we are looking for a local editor/content creator responsible for managing the editorial aspects for Rogers City Lifestyle. Candidates must reside in NWA. The position involves supervising the magazine’s freelance writers and photographers, organizing all editorial content for the monthly publication, and contributing as a writer. This highly creative role requires journalistic skills, management skills, and the ability to adhere to strict deadlines. The editor will join and lead a best-in-class magazine with a top-notch photography and writing team, enjoying robust support, software systems, and guidance from our corporate team with over 15 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop and implement overall editorial strategy with the Publisher to delight readers and advertising partners.

· Maintain the Journalistic Integrity of the magazine.

  • Manage and meet all editorial timelines.
  • Coordinate all editorials for each monthly edition.
  • Plan and assign photography/editorial for all issues.
  • Ensure effective execution of assigned layouts by adhering to word count requirements and incorporating necessary photographic elements.
  • Manage monthly content, assign freelance work, and write and edit articles.
  • Oversee content alignment with brand style, deadlines, and quality standards.
  • Maintain professional relationships with contributors (writers and photographers).
  • Track and submit monthly payments to the publisher for freelance contractors.
  • Work closely with the Director of Social Media to fulfill our mission.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Background in writing, content creation, or visual creative work, with leadership skills. Formal education in journalism or marketing preferred.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills to create and execute high-quality monthly publications.
  • Strong communicator and leader.
  • Professional and personable communication style for local editorial interviews and community engagement.
  • Computer literate, with the ability to learn proprietary software tools and systems, and expertise with digital communication tools.
  • Must live in NWA.
