A leading organization in the tissue manufacturing industry is seeking a Maintenance Manager to join its team. This role offers the opportunity to apply your expertise in a dynamic, sustainability-focused environment while leading a high-performing maintenance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of maintenance professionals and oversee contractor management for maintenance projects.
- Drive operational excellence by identifying and implementing performance improvements.
- Monitor asset performance and implement strategies to sustain and enhance efficiency.
- Manage the scheduling and execution of planned maintenance work orders.
- Contribute to annual planning and budgeting processes.
- Prepare and execute investment and asset maintenance plans, including shutdowns, while achieving ROI targets.
- Foster employee engagement and development.
- Ensure compliance with internal business processes and industry best practices.
- Maintain high standards of work quality and safety within the maintenance team.
- Monitor and mitigate occupational health and safety risks.
- Champion lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement strategies.
- Communicate and lead efforts to meet targets related to production capacity, cost control, quality, employee engagement, and safety.
Required Experience & Skills
- Proven leadership experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong team-building and coaching abilities.
- Excellent judgment and decision-making skills aligned with organizational priorities.
- Effective communication, diplomacy, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a 24/7 operational facility.
- Proficiency with technological tools including Microsoft Office and CMMS.
- Familiarity with SAP software is a plus.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering Technology (or related field).
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in manufacturing.
- At least 2 years of experience in:
- Leading a maintenance department.
- Coaching and managing individuals.
- Implementing safe work practices (e.g., Lockout, PPE, confined space).
- Experience with paper mill equipment and technologies is beneficial.
- Skilled in planning and scheduling optimization.
- Experience with KPIs and project tracking.
- Knowledge of CapEx processes and maintenance systems in pulp and paper mills is an asset.
