Mail Courier/Driver Job Description:

As a Mail Courier/Driver , you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of mail and packages to various locations. This role is an on-call role , not full time.  On-call Monday through Friday. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of service that our customers expect. This position requires a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Experience in driving and handling mail is strongly desired.

Key Information:
  • Monday – Friday (on-call)
  • First Shift (7:30am-4:30pm)
  • Pay rate is $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
  • Location: Rochester, NY
Ideal Experience for the Mail Courier Position:
  • Professional driving experience with companies such as FedEx, UPS, United States Postal Service (USPS) or similar organizations that handle mail/parcel deliveries
  • Experience in handling and/or sorting mail and packages
  • Corporate mail room experience
Key Responsibilities:
  • The Mail Courier/Driver will collect and deliver mail and packages to and from specified locations.
  • Sort and organize mail and packages for efficient delivery.
  • Plan and follow the most efficient routes for delivery.
  • Ensure the security and confidentiality of all mail and packages.
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and maintenance checks.
  • Report any issues or delays encountered during delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries and vehicle maintenance.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies.

     
Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Proven experience as a driver; experience in mail delivery is a plus.
  • Ability to lift and carry mail and packages up to [weight limit, e.g., 50 pounds].
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and reliably.
  • Familiarity with local streets and neighborhoods.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
