Job Description We are hiring for a Professional Licensed Surveyor in Morgantown, WV.
Job Summary: The Surveyor is responsible for assisting with the scheduling and coordination of field work; accuracy of surveys on all projects; collecting and analyzing data; interpreting technical maps and drawings; and all other related office duties.
Principal Job Duties: - Follow all corporate and job site safety procedures
- Collaborate with senior staff in scheduling and coordinating field survey work
- Ensure that field survey activities are performed in accordance with company standard procedures, standards set by applicable state statutes and the American Congress of Surveying and Mapping
- Ensure accuracy of project research, boundary calculations, and records accuracy of survey data, notes, and sketches
- Maintain records, prepare reports, and compose correspondence relative to the work
- Make technical decisions and communicate to Survey Supervisor and/or Practice Leader immediately
- Carry out broad assignments and verbal instructions from Survey Supervisor or Practice Leader with little to no daily supervision
- Effectively communicate with clients, contractors and professional office staff regarding projects
- Supervise use of equipment, preparation of sketches and notes and electronic data collection
- Coordinate the repair, maintenance and inventory of survey vehicles and equipment; request new equipment as necessary
- Prepare daily time sheets, data logs and expense reports legibly and accurately
- Provide input to Practice Leader regarding performance evaluation of crew members
- Prospect for new clients and opportunities
- Strive to make each project profitable
- Improve and expand industry knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications and participating in professional organization
Required: - Education: Post-secondary technical training in surveying, including two-year associate degree or technology degree is required.
- Certification: Registered Professional Surveyor license in West Virginia
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
- Must possess advanced reading, writing and math skills
- Must be comfortable communicating with the public
- Must possess intermediate to advanced computer skills (MS Office and relevant technical software required), including the ability to learn various types of company / client software
- Must be available to work in all types of indoor and outdoor environments
Salary: $90-$110K
Location: Morgantown, WV
Duration: Permanent
