Description JOB TITLE: Legal Research Intern DEPARTMENT: Legal REPORTS TO: Associate Legal Counsel BACK UP: Legal STATUS: Non-exempt PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Assists and supports attorneys with research and document preparation for court proceedings and legal transactions.
- Utilizes a variety of sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, and legal codes to research and analyze legal topics.
- Drafts and edits legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, motions, and contracts. Conducts fact-finding, data collection, and analysis used to prepare statements and arguments.
- Assists attorneys with depositions, interviews, discovery, and investigations.
- Manages, organizes, and archives documents with software tools and technology.
- Applies specialized legal terminology appropriately in documents.
- Keep accurate and legible records.
- Adhere to all quality, safety, policies, procedures, and reporting.
- Other duties as required or assigned by manager.

Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: Skills & Abilities :
- Ability to prepare documentation.
- Effectively information gather as it relates to legal research.
- Excellent collaboration skills.
- Understanding of legal and court documents, as well as electronic discovery.
- Ability to research, write, and proofread documents, sites, and other research tools.
- Requires ability to read, hear, speak, and comprehend and carry out verbal and written instructions & Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Ability to understand, comprehend and use legal terminology.
- Basic computer and math skills.
Experience and Education :
- Completion of at least one year at an accredited law school and an interest in corporate, regulatory, or property law.
- Knowledge of or proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and willingness to learn software platforms.
- General knowledge of legal research and Blue Book citations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: - Requires ability to visually observe the condition of surroundings.
- Requires ability to hear and speak.
- Requires ability to work in varying extreme hot, cold, and wet temperatures and conditions.
