Job Description

Summary: The Lead Pastor of Bethany West Seattle will shepherd the congregation, teach regularly on Sundays, oversee the ministries and staff, extend pastoral care, and collaborate with staff and congregants to fulfill the vision and mission of Bethany Community Church. Location : Bethany West Seattle Reports to: Executive Pastor FLSA Status: Exempt, 30 hours/week

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Pray for, teach, shepherd, and worship with the Bethany West Seattle congregation. Study and collaborate with the BCC Teaching Team on sermon series, weekly messages, and resources for spiritual formation Develop, oversee and encourage congregant leaders, staff and volunteers Engage the Local Oversight Team members to seek the vision of Jesus for the West congregation, to lead and care for the community, and to grow as disciples. Identify and develop new volunteers, leaders and resources to facilitate a growing community Provide leadership, shepherding and management of staff and ministries Establish and nurture local mission and outreach partners in the community Provide leadership and management of Bethany West Seattle Steward and manage the Bethany West Seattle budget with excellence Ensure effective operations such as: communication, safety of ministry participants and volunteers Provide accurate and timely information regarding Location Traits of Health Lead in the integration of Bethany-wide ministries with Bethany West Seattle Collaborate with Bethany-wide leadership and congregants to integrate Bethany’s call to Racial Justice & Reconciliation into the ministries of Bethany West Seattle. Collaborate with, engage and communicate about All Bethany ministries Perform other duties as the situation requires or as assigned, as a member of the staff of Bethany Community Church.
