**Junior High / Middle School vocal music teacher position open in Bakersfield, CA.** This role will develop an appreciation of art of music as part of general culture; teach techniques of vocal and/or instrumental music expression; discover and develop talents of pupils in field of music; develop knowledge and skills in listening and reading music; meet goals established in District's "Purposes of Instruction," Course of Study and Curriculum Guide in relationship to specific needs of all students under his/her direction. **REPORTS TO:** Coordinator - Visual and Performing Arts
**QUALIFICATIONS:**
- California credential to teach vocal and/or instrumental music
- Bachelor's degree with music major or minor desirable
- Ability to teach vocal music
- Ability to play piano and sing
- Ability to motivate children to perform in vocal and/or general music
