Junior Accountant

Job Description

We are seeking a proactive Junior Accountant to work with the Finance team in our San Leandro office. The position will be responsible for general accounting and administrative functions. The candidate will support the Finance team by ensuring payments are completed and expenses are controlled by calculating, posting business transactions, invoice processing, verifying, and reconciling financial data according to established policies and procedures in an efficient, timely, and accurate manner. The candidate will report to the Director of Finance.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without visa sponsorship.

Job Responsibilities

• Support the full cycle of Accounts Payable, including coding, processing invoices, and check runs
• Reconcile discrepancies and resolve vendor statements.
• Processing sales/use tax filings.
• Support & review Employee Reimbursements
• Keeping track of credit card expenses and timely booking into appropriate GL account
• Follow up with credit card users for timely submittal approval of expenses.
• Process weekly ACH, Credit Card, and Wire payments.
• Act as a backup for Accounts Receivable
• Other duties as assigned

Education

· Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience (Required)

Qualifications:

• At least 1 to 2 years' experience working in a finance department, preferably in manufacturing.
• A track record of following through on commitments.
• Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
• Naturally inquisitive with high attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products, especially in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Thrives in a high performance, fast-paced environment.
• Great team player

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $31.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
