Job Description
This is a non-merit, internship position. Candidates must follow the instructions in the "To Apply" section. Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise.
The Iowa Insurance Division is seeking a student intern interested in growing their skills and experience in the insurance and financial services industry. The student selected for this internship will work with various bureaus within the Division. The intern will perform tasks including, but not limited to consumer education in the areas of insurance, investments and securities.
What you'll get to do:
Interact with division executive leadership and staff, consumers, other state regulators, regulated entities, and other members of federal, state, local entities in the furtherance of the Department of Insurance and Financial Service's objective of enhancing consumer education.
The student intern will familiarize themselves with terminology for various filings and actuarial reviews.
Review and approve independent adjuster licenses.
Speak at public events.
Assist in drafting bill language.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Currently enrolled student at an Iowa high school or in a degree program at an accredited educational institution. Genuine interest in a career in the financial services industry. Knowledge of the product and producer licensing process within the Iowa Insurance Division.
