Overview:
Were looking for a skilled, service-minded individual who is as comfortable updating systems and troubleshooting software issues as they are reconciling systems and managing essential clerical tasks. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys a balanced role, being approximately 50% technical support and 50% administrative/clerical work.

About the Role:

The IT Specialist plays a key part in ensuring the smooth operation and security of our agencys technology infrastructure. Youll be working alongside two full-time technicians who focus on hands-on technical tasks, while your role bridges the gap between support, coordination, and administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and update software and hardware across our systems.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for IT support, helping staff resolve technical issues efficiently through our internal helpdesk system, Freshworks.
  • Document technical problems and resolutions to maintain accurate records and elevate recurring issues or trends.
  • Collaborate with both internal team members and external vendors to ensure project timelines, updates, and service agreements are on track.
  • Conduct regular system maintenance in our internal systems, including Microsoft 365.
  • Create, manage, and distribute data-driven reports that help guide decision-making and continuous improvement across the department.
  • Assist with administrative and clerical functions, including department purchasing and financial processes, organizing training sessions, tracking asset inventory, and preparing documentation for audits or budget planning.

Were seeking a candidate with a well-rounded background who is comfortable toggling between tech and administrative duties without missing a beat.

The right person will have:

  • At least one year of IT support experience in a professional setting.
  • A working knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
  • Experience managing documentation, organizing digital files, and updating systems.
  • A proactive mindset and the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Familiarity with ticketing/helpdesk systems and automation tools.
  • Experience in an administrative support or hybrid tech/clerical role.
  • Comfort conducting staff training or writing user guides.
  • A customer service mindset with a focus on efficiency and follow-through.

Conditions of Employment:

  • May work across all agency programs as needed.
  • Occasional flexible work schedule required to meet individual client needs.
  • Must possess a valid CA Drivers License, current auto insurance, and a clean DMV printout (no more than 3 points).
  • Must pass a clear background check with DOJ, CACI, FBI, CCL.
  • CPR and First Aid Certified.
  • TB Exam and Physical at the time of employment.
