B&K Diesel and Electric and Generator Source have an opening for an experienced Industrial Diesel Engine Mechanic and Technician. We are a growing industrial diesel generator company that buys and sells surplus and used commercial power generation equipment throughout the world.
The company is a new merger between B&K Diesel and Electric and Generator Source, both companies have been in the power generation industry for over 38 years. Our focus is on low-hour industrial diesel and natural gas generators that are 20 kW to 2000 kW from top name brands like Cummins, Caterpillar, Kohler, Generac, MTU Onsite Energy and more. We also provide troubleshooting, repair and service on generators as well as installs and de-installs.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Maintain equipment operation by completing inspections, preventive maintenance requirements, correcting deficiencies, keeping records, diagnosing electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
· Determine equipment condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests, identifying worn and damaged parts and general troubleshooting.
· Maintain yard/field equipment (forklifts, cranes, service trucks, welders, trailers, generators, etc.)
· Completing preventive maintenance schedules, installing components, parts upgrades, correcting deficiencies, maintaining appearance and keeping records of time by task.
· Diagnose and repair any issues found during initial testing.
· Change filters and perform standard service on units.
· Work closely with the Service Manager on project progress, estimates, etc.
· Assist in preparing generators for shipment as needed.
· Assist with other duties as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
· We are looking for an industrial diesel engine mechanic with at least 5 years of experience.
· In-depth understanding of diesel engine technology is required.
· Experience working with large industrial diesel engines and related equipment is required.
· Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of experience working with numerous name brands and industrial engines like Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, etc.
· Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues on large commercial and industrial diesel engines
· Proficient with estimating time required to complete tasks.
· Exceptional communication skills and team player mentality.
· Valid Drivers License.
REGULAR BUSINESS HOURS: 8:00a.m. to 4:30p.m. EST
COMPENSATION: Competitive
This position is full-time and is located in Jacksonville, Florida.
