Income Tax Specialist ​Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with experience in income tax preparation. The individual should be able to work without extensive supervision on all tax and accounting related projects.

Income Tax Specialist Duties/Responsibilities: The following duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Prepare various tax returns 1040, 1120, 1120-S, 1120-H, 1065, 1041, 990, 709.
• Prepare State Income tax, Payroll, Sales tax and other local tax returns.
• Prepare Amended tax returns.
• File Extensions and prepare tax planning and projections.
• Respond to client requests and questions and work with clients to obtain information for accounting and tax return completion.
• Independently respond to taxpayer notices.
• Prepare accurate tax workpapers including accounting records.
• Minimum communication with IRS.
• Tax related research.
• Prepare accurate accounting records and discuss year end adjustments with clients.

Income Tax Specialist Qualifications:

• Income tax preparation experience
• Fundamental knowledge of accounting and tax.
• CPA or EA preferred
• Experience with current computer tax (Lacerte) and accounting programs and reporting tools
• Detail and deadline-oriented, ability to manage multiple priorities
• Strong analytical, communication and problem solving skills
