Position: In-House Counsel

Location: Atlanta, Georgia

Compensation: $160k, plus B - DOE

Onsite then hybrid

Our client is offering an opportunity for an In House Counsel in the bustling city of Atlanta, Georgia. This role operates within the corporate real estate industry and involves drafting and negotiating real estate agreements, construction contracts and other various documents. This position is perfect for someone who wants to get away from the law firm environment with high billables and gain a true balance of work and life.

Responsibilities:

- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial real estate agreements, including purchase agreements, and development agreements.

- Conduct legal due diligence for commercial real estate transactions.

- Advise and collaborate with internal stakeholders, including executives, finance teams, and operations departments, on legal matters related to commercial real estate projects.

- Research and analyze legal issues affecting commercial real estate operations.

- Develop and implement strategies to minimize legal risks and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations in commercial real estate transactions.

- Manage external legal counsel and consultants on specific real estate matters, including litigation and regulatory proceedings.

- Conduct training sessions for company employees on relevant legal and compliance topics related to commercial real estate activities.

- Stay updated on industry trends, legal developments, and best practices in commercial real estate law to provide proactive legal guidance and support to the organization.

• Must hold a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

• Must be admitted to the GA state bar and in good standing

• Must have a minimum of 3+ years of experience as a practicing attorney

• Must have a strong background in corporate real estate law

• Proven experience with real estate contracts is essential

• Must possess excellent negotiation and communication skills

• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team

• Must have strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Must have a high level of integrity and professional accountability

• Must demonstrate a strong attention to detail

• Proficiency in using legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite is required

• Must be willing to stay updated on new laws and regulations in the field.
