Position Summary

The In-House Counsel will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of contracts, with a particular emphasis on agreements related to ERISA-regulated benefit plans and healthcare services. This role requires a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, risk mitigation strategies, and business operations within the insurance and healthcare sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts including confidentiality agreements, vendor agreements, employment agreements, and service-level agreements
  • Ensure contracts align with Crumdale Specialty’s strategic goals and regulatory obligations
  • Collaborate with business units, including Captive Sales, Underwriting, and Operations, to support deal structuring and implementation
  • Support dispute resolution and contract enforcement as needed
  • Maintain organized contract records and contribute to process improvements in contract management

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active bar membership in good standing
  • 5+ years of experience in contract law
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and risk management in healthcare and employee benefits is highly preferred
  • Experience in the insurance industry or with TPAs, PBMs, or healthcare providers is highly preferred
  • Experience with ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, and other healthcare regulations preferred
