As a Home Health Aide (HHA) the work you do every day makes a difference in the lives of our patients. As a Home Health Aide (HHA) you are an essential member of the home care team who works under the supervision of a nurse. You provide compassionate support with activities of daily living and basic personal care needs while ensuring a safe, comfortable living environment. Interacting with patients' families while caring for your patients and experiencing the rewarding privilege to be part of every step of their recovery journey. You'll perform personal care including but not limited to: bathing, grooming, skin care, toileting, and oral hygiene. You will effectively communicate and document any changes in patient conditions to the registered nurse or supervisor and maintain positive relationships with your patient and team. You'll be responsible for all practices and duties within the home health aide scope of practice as outlined by the state for its HHA personnel. Major areas of responsibility include patient care (assisting with lifting and transferring), communication (maintaining good relationships and reporting changes), minimizing patient risk (ensuring a healthy and safe living environment), policies (completing documentation following agency protocol and Medicare/Federal guidelines), and operations (attending in-service training and mandatory agency meetings). Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA) or 75-hour nurse aide training (CNA), one year of experience as a nurse aide, completion of skills competency test with 80% or higher score, valid driver's license and auto insurance, and capability of all physical demands.
