2024-2025 School Year Summary The GBHS instructor for Computer Science/Programming Cluster is responsible for leading the instructional program and implementing activities for high school students working toward careers in their chosen area of study. Programming / industry experience is required, traditional teacher certification is not required. The instructor is responsible for meeting the unique needs of the students assigned to the program and prepares students for careers in Computer Science/Programming professions. Programming/industry experience is required, traditional teacher certification is not required. Essential Duties:
? Teaches the state approved standards/proficiencies for CIP Code 11.0201
? Successful experience and ability to work effectively with students, parents, and teachers.
? Keeps abreast of developments, research, and new technology in related industries.
? Complies with all state and local CTE compliance requirements.
o Delivers instruction related to the specified state proficiencies/standards as identified by the CTE Director.
o Completes crosswalks for all foundation skills.
o Organizes and facilitates a minimum of 2 advisory committee meetings each year. Build/sustain community/industry involvement to promote program support and student opportunities.
o Provides a work-based experience for each student each year.
o Provides leadership/CTSO experiences for all students.

o Updates the CIP Self-review each year.
o Updates/revises program/curriculum each year.
o Maintains and expands articulation opportunities with postsecondary
institutions relevant to program standards.
o Ensures appropriate safety curriculum/assessments and maintains
student safety logs.
o Prepares students for end of year state assessments.
o Prepares students for relevant industry certifications.
? Maintains CTE teacher certification through local, state and national
professional development opportunities.
? Must hold or be willing to obtain occupational certification or annual
authorization in the identified CIPs.
? Assesses and measures student growth.
? Other duties/requirements as assigned.
Qualifications:
? Education: High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree or higher
preferred
? Related work/industry experience required
? Current CTE certification in the 11.0201 CIP preferred
