Job Overview:
The primary function of the Escort Driver is to operate an escort vehicle safely. This is a part-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Towing Manager.
Primary Job Duties:
+ Able to operate all vehicles assigned.
+ Load fuel as instructed at designed location using fuel gun/nozzle.
+ Responsible for general maintenance of truck, including but not limited to: checking oil and fuel levels.
+ Complete all pre-trip requirements before each truck run and post-trip requirement at the end of each shift.
+ Inform dispatch and safety of any DOT fines, citations or any other relevant issues.
+ Able to operate an escort vehicle safely.
+ Know and abide by the rules of the escorting a load.
+ Understand how to operate the equipment on an escort vehicle:
+ Height Pole
+ Height Stick
+ Oversize Sign(s)
+ Communicate with the driver and customer.
+ Have the correct PPE when on a job site.
+ Assist the driver at the job site if and when needed.
+ Communicate with Dispatch in regard to any potential customer issues such as; complaints, spills, leaks, incidents, accidents, injuries and vehicle issues.
+ Communicate with Maintenance in regard to any vehicle issues or needs and report any issues immediately.
+ May drive in hazardous conditions, including inclement weather, tight quarters, and inner-city locations.
+ Handle exposure to heavy traffic, dust, fumes, high and low temperatures, slippery surfaces, low-lighted work areas and high noise levels.
Qualifications/Experience/Education:
+ At least 18 years or older, high school diploma or equivalent.
+ Valid Drivers license required.
+ Able to pass pre-employment 7-year criminal background check.
