We need several experienced Diesel Heavy Equipment Mechanics living in the Columbus area to work in our NEW Gahanna, OH shop. Diesel Heavy Equipment mechanics will troubleshoot, repair, and diagnose equipment for our clients. Proven experience in Mechanical, Hydraulic, Electrical, and Welding is needed.

Pay Ranges: $26-$32/hr. (varies on experience)

Shift: 7:00am – 3:00pm; Monday - Friday

Diesel Heavy Equipment Mechanic Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair standard mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Examples of equipment include Street Sweepers, Cleaners, Hydro Excavation, Grapple Trucks, Plows, and other specialized machinery.
• Perform scheduled maintenance, safety inspections and preventive care on equipment to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
• Conduct thorough inspections and document all repair and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with the operations team to ensure the timely delivery of equipment to clients.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Diesel Heavy Equipment Mechanic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent, with additional technical training or certification in heavy equipment mechanics preferred.
• Minimum 2-5 years of hands-on experience as a Heavy Equipment Technician
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic software.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to identify and resolve complex issues
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with colleagues and clients
• Valid driver's license and the ability to operate a variety of heavy equipment.
• Forklift certification required.
• Welding experience is a plus.
• Must have your own hand tools.
• Ability and willingness to complete manufacturer training.
