Job Description

Entry-Level Geologist

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Geologist to support a diverse range of environmental projects for public and private sector clients. This position will primarily focus on fieldwork, data evaluation, and report preparation, contributing to site investigations and environmental compliance efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field investigations, including soil classification, groundwater monitoring well installation, air quality monitoring, and collection of soil and water samples for lab testing.
  • Assist in developing sampling strategies and compiling analytical results from soil, groundwater, and air assessments.
  • Participate in preparing technical proposals and environmental reports under the supervision of senior staff.
  • Support the coordination and oversight of subcontractors during site investigation and remediation activities.
  • Collaborate on remediation planning and assist in implementing field-based cleanup activities.
  • Coordinate lab testing and ensure proper identification and analysis of environmental samples.
  • Provide on-site monitoring and documentation to ensure compliance with environmental permits and regulatory standards during construction phases.
  • Perform other tasks as needed to support environmental projects and meet client expectations.
  • Adhere to all company safety standards, procedures, and quality protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or a closely related field.
  • Internship or prior consulting experience in environmental site assessments (Phase I/II) and remediation is highly preferred.
  • Solid foundation in geological concepts, soil classification systems (e.g., Unified Soil Classification System), and hydrogeologic principles.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations, including OSHA and CERCLA.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present findings clearly in both written and verbal formats.
  • Analytical thinker with strong organizational and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with ArcGIS, RockWare, or Adobe Illustrator is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving policy requirements.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred.
