Join our client a Freight Forwarder for Air Export!

Location: Iselin, NJ

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: $22.50/hr - $30.50/hr

As a Freight Forwarder, you will play a critical role in managing the exportation of goods via air transport. Your expertise will ensure compliance with international regulations and facilitate the timely and efficient shipment of goods to destinations around the world.

Key Responsibilities:

• Export Coordination: Manage and coordinate the export process for goods via air transportation.
• Stakeholder Liaison: Collaborate with airlines, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations, such as cargo space and export rates.
• Documentation: Prepare and review export documentation, including airway bills, commercial invoices, and export declarations.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure accuracy and compliance with international trade and customs regulations.
• Routing Optimization: Optimize routing and carrier selection for cost-effective and timely shipments.
• Client Communication: Communicate with clients to gather shipment details, provide status updates, and address inquiries.
• Rate Negotiation: Negotiate airfreight rates with carriers to achieve competitive pricing.
• Problem Resolution: Identify and resolve issues related to shipment delays, damages, or discrepancies, and implement corrective actions and preventative measures.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of two years' experience in air export operations.
• Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of air export procedures, documentation, and customs regulations.
• Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail. Proficiency in logistics and transportation management software.
• Preferred Qualifications: Certification in airfreight operations or customs compliance, experience with airfreight carriers, ground handlers, or customs brokerage, and familiarity with customs automation systems.
