Job Overview:


We are seeking an experienced Fire Suppression Systems Designer in Ohio . In this role, you will design, develop, and oversee the installation of fire suppression systems to ensure the safety and protection of life and property. This is a full-time, in-office position where you will work closely with project teams to deliver high-quality designs and collaborate with contractors for proper system installation and operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design life safety and asset protection systems using AutoCAD and proprietary software, ensuring compliance with local, national, and manufacturer standards.
  • Direct contractors during system installation and ensure proper operation according to design specifications.
  • Conduct on-site surveys to ensure accurate system design and successful installation.
  • Review and interpret project specifications provided by customers to implement them effectively.
  • Attend manufacturer training sessions and other professional development opportunities to stay current with industry standards.
  • Create project-specific operation and maintenance manuals to support system functionality.
  • Update and maintain existing drawings for system improvements or modifications.
  • Adhere to company and customer safety policies throughout the design and installation process.
  • Assist office staff with engineering-related tasks, including process improvements and system documentation.
  • Provide support in system inspections, maintenance, startups, and commissioning when necessary.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D drafting and familiarity with 3D design software.
  • Solid understanding of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Effective communication skills to convey technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Eagerness to learn and stay up-to-date with industry standards and regulations.
  • Willingness to study for and obtain NICET certification.
  • Self-motivated with a desire for continuous improvement in processes and design methods.
