The Financial Aid/Business Office/Evening School Receptionist reports to the Accounts Receivable Clerk and the Assistant Dean at the DeSoto Campus. This person will manage the front desk of the Financial Aid/Business Office from 10:30 am until 4:30 pm Monday through Thursday and from 8:00 am until 4:30 pm on Fridays, as well as the front desk of the administrative office from 4:30 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday through Thursday evenings. Primary responsibilities will be to assist the Accounts Receivable Clerk and the Assistant Dean in meeting needs of students and faculty.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) or higher
  • Experience working in confidential office environments
  • Computer proficiency (including Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Excellent communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate's Degree or higher
  • 3-5 years prior experience working in confidential office environments
  • Experience working in an educational environment
  • Secretarial skills

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Manage the Financial Aid/Business/Evening School office by responding to students, staff and faculty inquiries
  2. Handle all communications in a professional manner
  3. Greet visitors (in-person, phone, and email) in a courteous and professional manner
  4. Learn and dispense knowledge of college programs, policies, and procedures related to business office, financial aid, and evening programs
  5. Operate computers and all office equipment proficiently
  6. Back-up Accounts Receivable Clerk
  7. Receive student payments
  8. Assist with student registration, withdrawals, etc.
  9. Other duties as assigned by the Business Office and Assistant Campus Dean
