About the Company

A confidential federal contractor is seeking two experienced Project Managers to lead mechanical systems maintenance and facility operations at a secure government facility in Northern Virginia. This is a long-term federal contract focused on scheduled mechanical maintenance and operations support—not construction build-out. This role requires direct coordination with federal stakeholders, oversight of subcontractors, and adherence to strict compliance and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage scheduled maintenance plans using Microsoft Excel.
  • Oversee performance of mechanical systems including boilers, chillers, air handling units, steam systems, and compressors.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and internal technicians to ensure timely and compliant service delivery.
  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for federal stakeholders.
  • Review completed work for quality and compliance in partnership with QA personnel.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reports aligned with federal contract standards.

Qualifications

  • Active Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Active DC Class 1 Steam Engineer License
  • Minimum 10 years of experience managing or supervising mechanical systems maintenance in federal, institutional, or commercial facilities
  • Experience with HVAC, boiler, chiller, and steam system operations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be eligible to pass a NACI background check and obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
  • Must be available to work 100% on-site, Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM

Preferred Skills

  • Experience managing federal facility service contracts (GSA, DoD, or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with compliance standards in secure or mission-critical environments
  • Understanding of federal contract recompete cycles

Pay range and compensation package

Pay Rate: $60–$80 per hour, depending on experience

Employment Type: Direct hire or contract-to-hire
