** Facility Telehealth Technology Program Manager (Biomedical Equipment Support Specialist)**

**Summary**
The Facility Telehealth Technology Program Manager is a full-time position that reports to Director Connected Care within Connected Care Service Line. The Facility Telehealth Technology Program Manager position is required to provide critical operational and technical program management and support necessary to sustain clinical Telehealth operations throughout Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

The higher-level of duties associated with this facility-level position may include, but are not limited to:
* serving as a work leader to the Facility Telehealth Coordinator (FTC) and Director by managing the day-to-day operations of Telehealth and Connected Care technologies deployed throughout the VAMC/Healthcare System; implementation of new technologies; development of associated technology budget forecasts; supporting continuous and adhoc measurement and quality reviews of technologies and IT connectivity; and performing all administrative aspects for the management of Telehealth and Connected Care technologies;
* manages critical operations of all technologies utilized by Telehealth and Connected Care programs and acts as the Project Manager for major deployments, upgrades, retrofits or refresh projects for technologies and applications throughout the facility/healthcare system, ensuring technologies are online and ready for use within established/required timeframes.
* manages new Telehealth and Connected Care equipment implementations to including technology equipment review, testing, configuration, installation, security and verification of equipment's integration into existing IT network. - serves as the technical SME and technical team leader for the integration of Telehealth and Connected Care technologies into associated systems and products, such as scheduling interfaces (i.e., VISTA, Cerner, VA Online Scheduling, Telehealth Management Platform, etc.) and other future integration projects.
* collaborates closely with FTCs and/or Telehealth Clinical Technicians (TCTs) internally within the VAMC and at other external VAMCs/VISNs in order to coordinate Telehealth and Connected Care technologies and technical support activities that support the delivery of patient care. This includes supporting interfacility scheduling of resources required for clinical visits. - provides technical support and resolution of issues throughout the facility/healthcare system and consults with OIT stakeholders as needed. Appropriately utilizes National Telehealth Help Desk (NTHHD) resources to escalate and resolve issues as needed.
* prepares reports and briefings on results of studies and is responsible for the collection, interpretation, and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data relevant to Telehealth and Connected Care technologies.
* maintains recurring communications with Telehealth personnel, overseeing compliance of Telehealth and Connected Care technology guidelines and technical processes as outlined in National policies.
* works to identify and correct any training deficiencies that are identified concerning Telehealth and Connected Care technologies and/or processes. Provides SME knowledge and assistance in the assignment and provision of training to meet the needs of Telehealth staff.
* serves as the technical SME and technical team leader on the setup, configuration, maintenance, repair and testing of all Telehealth and Connected Care equipment and services.
* chairs and/or participates on committees serving as an SME providing direct guidance regarding Telehealth and Connected Care technologies;
* advocates for Telehealth and Connected Care technology needs across VAMC/Healthcare System. - provides SME assistance in the development of a VAMC/Healthcare System emergency and disaster contingency plan for Telehealth and Connected Care technologies and routine operations which incorporates national, network and local standards;
* oversight responsibilities related to Telehealth equipment and technology inventory/management to include monitoring, management and updating of all resource-based scheduling systems/platforms (i.e., Telehealth Management Platform) to ensure they correctly identify the resources (locations of rooms, technologies, etc.) used for scheduling clinical Telehealth visits.
* Performs incoming inspections on new and unfamiliar medical equipment and systems upon receipt to determine that all government safety regulations, manufacturer's specifications, contract requirements are met. Attends training from in-house as well as outside sources ( e.g. attendance in community college courses, vendor service schools, conferences/seminars, etc.) to maintain and improve working knowledge of medical equipment, including current technology and future advances. Provides biomedical equipment related technical training to peer and Developmental BESS's as well as clinical staff.

** Qualifications**
**Experience**. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. (2) Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs). In addition to the experience above, the candidate must demonstrate all of the following KSAs:
(a) Knowledge of VA, NFPA, FDA, NRC, The Joint Commission, and other relevant safety and radiation safety standards.
(b) Ability to lead biomedical staff and work on medical equipment if needed to maintain compliant workflow.
( c) Knowledge of project management principles required to effectively and efficiently manage multiple, concurrent projects.
( d) Skill in communication to interact with clinical, technical and managerial staff. (e) Ability to instruct staff, lead individuals, manage priorities, and schedule work assignments.

(3) Assignment. For all assignments above the full-performance level, the higher-level duties must consist of significant scope, complexity (difficulty), and range of variety, and be performed by the incumbent at least 25% of the time. The Lead BESS works in support of the BESS management team. Distributes and prioritizes workload among employees in accordance with established workflow and/or job specializations. Revises work schedules to meet anticipated and unanticipated changes in the workload. Assigns daily work to staff, establishing priorities based on workload related to BESS. Prepares estimates and reports on expected time of completion of work. Reviews progress of work assignments and modifies as needed and checks completed work for accuracy.
