JOB DESCRIPTION

We are currently seeking an Executive Underwriter, Commercial Insurance Specialty to join our Middle Market Commercial Insurance practice in New York City.

As an Executive Underwriter, responsibilities include managing a renewal book of $7M - $8M and generating new business of approximately $1-1.5M annually. The role involves driving profitable growth with New York City agents and brokers. Products include Package, Property, General Liability, Auto, Worker's Compensation, Umbrella/Excess, and Foreign. Programs are guaranteed cost and Loss Sensitive structures. We seek a candidate who is highly motivated, results-oriented, with solid business and underwriting acumen.

Responsibilities:

  • Have experience in both Property & Casualty lines of business. Familiarity with global programs is a plus.
  • Develop and negotiate price, coverage, terms, and conditions for all new business and renewals, while actively identifying account rounding opportunities for other Chubb practices.
  • Collaborate with other underwriters, operations, claims, marketing, and home office management as necessary. Implement and manage effective pricing and rate strategies to produce profitability, book growth, and successful producer relations.
  • Demonstrate strong sales and marketing skills; manage agency and broker relationships effectively.
  • Identify growth opportunities within new and existing production sources.
  • Apply marketing principles, pricing/rate strategies to attain underwriting profit.
  • Possess a high proficiency with the underwriting process and a solid risk analysis background.
  • Interact effectively with all customer levels and collaborate with underwriters, claims, and loss control personnel.
  • Maintain knowledge of technical issues, compliance, coverage, products, and pricing strategies.
  • Travel locally as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant experience in Property & Casualty lines.
  • Strong underwriting, sales, and marketing skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with agents, brokers, and clients.
  • Proficiency in risk analysis, pricing strategies, and technical underwriting issues.
