Selby Jennings has partnered with a leading hedge fund based in Chicago, known for its fundamental, research-intensive approach to equity investing. They are seeking to add an Equity Research Analyst to the team with a generalist focus.

Position Overview
They are looking for a motivated and analytical Equity Research Analyst with 1-3 years of experience in equity research, investment banking, or a related field to join our team in Chicago.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct comprehensive research on broad equities and sectors.
2. Build and maintain detailed financial models and valuation analyses to support investment theses.
3. Track and analyze industry trends, company performance, and economic factors to assess potential impacts on investments.
4. Interact with company management, attend industry conferences, and review market data to gather intelligence and inform investment decisions.
5. Prepare concise, well-supported reports and present findings to portfolio managers and other members of the investment team.

Qualifications

1. 1-3 years of experience in equity research, investment banking, or a related field.
2. Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with a solid understanding of financial statements and valuation techniques.
3. Proficiency in Excel, Bloomberg, and other relevant financial software.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate investment theses and insights.
5. A self-starter with strong attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
