Job Description

Position Summary:

My client is seeking an experienced and proactive EHS Manager to lead and manage all environmental, health, and safety programs at their manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, foster a culture of safety, and drive continuous improvement in EHS performance across the site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific EHS programs, policies, and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements and corporate standards.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant environmental and safety regulations.
  • Lead safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations; ensure corrective actions are implemented and tracked.
  • Partner with plant leadership to integrate EHS priorities into daily operations, projects, and decision-making processes.
  • Oversee training programs to ensure all employees understand and follow safety practices and procedures.
  • Monitor and manage waste streams, hazardous materials, and air/water quality programs to maintain environmental compliance.
  • Maintain and report key EHS metrics, using data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare and submit required regulatory reports and documentation.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and external auditors during inspections or inquiries.
  • Promote employee engagement and accountability through communication, training, and visible leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in an EHS leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state/local safety and environmental regulations.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Professional EHS certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, chemicals, and noise.
  • Requires routine presence on the production floor.
