Client Details

Our client is an extremely reputable General Contractor (ranked in the Top ENR) with an international presence. They pride themselves in delivering complex mission critical, mixed-use, aviation, commercial, healthcare and K-12 projects worth $100M+. They are currently looking to grow their team in Northern VA by bringing on an experienced Electrical Estimator. This person will be given the opportunities and resources of an international firm, but experience a tight-knit family-oriented environment in their Northern VA office.

Description

The Electrical Estimator - Top ENR Firm - Northern VA will be responsible for accurately estimating the cost, time, materials, and labor required for electrical projects. This role involves collaborating with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure that estimates are comprehensive and align with project requirements and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze electrical plans, specifications, and project documentation to prepare accurate and competitive estimates.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and develop detailed cost estimates for electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, and low voltage systems.
  • Consult with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and ensure accuracy of cost estimates.
  • Prepare and present detailed estimates, proposals, and bid packages to project stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update cost databases and historical data to support accurate estimating.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop value

  • Conduct site visits and inspections to gather information and assess the scope of work.
  • Review and evaluate bid documents, contracts, and project schedules to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Track and manage changes to project scope, schedule, and cost throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide support during contract negotiations and assist in finalizing project budgets.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal team members to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Stay current with industry trends, standards, and regulations to ensure compliance and best practices.

Profile

The Electrical Estimator - Top ENR Firm - Northern VA will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as an Electrical Estimator in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in estimating software such as Accubid, McCormick, or similar.
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in estimating and documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project).
