FLSA Status : Non-exempt

Salary Range: $48,500.00 - $85,000.00 annually

Job Summary:

The electrical mechanic roll performs a variety of mechanical and electrical work related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation: Installing electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures, such as wiring, controls, lights, motors, generators, circuit breakers, and transformers, following technical specifications and safety regulations.
  • Maintenance & Repair: Performing routine maintenance checks, troubleshooting, and repairing malfunctions in electrical systems, equipment, and related mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshooting: Identifying and diagnosing electrical problems using testing devices and analytical skills.
  • Reading Technical Documents: Interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to understand the layout and functionality of electrical systems.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensuring work is performed in accordance with applicable electrical codes and safety regulations, such as the National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA 70E Electrical Safe Work Practices.
  • Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and repair work.
  • Collaboration: Working with other electricians and technicians and potentially supporting engineers in design and testing. 

Work Environment: 

  • Work includes settings such as industrial facilities, plants, substations, and potentially outdoors, depending on the specific role.
  • Work may be at varying heights, in confined spaces, and near hazardous materials.
  • The job will involve physical demands like lifting, kneeling, standing, and working in varying temperatures. 

Required Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of electrical and electronic principles, troubleshooting techniques, and the ability to use specialized tools and equipment.
  • Reading Comprehension: The ability to understand and interpret technical documents like blueprints and schematics.
  • Problem-Solving: The ability to analyze issues, identify root causes, and determine the best solutions.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulousness and precision are crucial when working with electrical systems.
  • Communication: Good communication skills are needed for interacting with colleagues, clients, and potential customers.
  • Physical Fitness: The ability to perform physical tasks like lifting, bending, and working in potentially challenging environments. 

Education and Experience: 

  • Five or more years of experience in the electrical field.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program a plus but not required
