Job Summary

THIS IS A PART-TIME POSITION THAT REQUIRES A REGULAR SCHEDULE WITHIN CORE WORK HOURS (8:00 - 4:00)

The Education Specialist provides primary support to an established NASA public-facing competition - the App Development Challenge - open to middle and high school students. Your qualifications must demonstrate experience working with such events and greater than a cursory knowledge of computer languages and coding.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and delivers content to educators, students, and informal education communities through public education events, experiential learning opportunities along with design challenges and competitions, student enrichment, and virtual learning.
  • Collect data on activity/project accomplishments and effectiveness through Lessons learned, reports, data collection, and briefings.
  • Creates design, development, curriculum, guides, lesson plans, support materials, and professional development for formal and informal learning communities.
  • Employs knowledge of current best practices and research in implementing NSTEM activities, projects, and programs.
  • Collaborations with NASA mission directorates, academia, government entities, professional and community organizations, and commercial partners to advance NASA's mission and the NSTEM objective.
