Job Description

Position Title: Education Program Specialist
Department: Education Institute
Reports to: Director of Education
Wage Classification: Exempt
Salary Rate: $42k - $46k

 
Position Summary: Manages committee volunteers and education program speakers to ensure subject matter is taught in a manner conducive to higher learning and content is relevant to the target audience. Manages the development of in-person and virtual education programs and events, answers NAA education related questions, and works collaboratively with education team in the development and maintenance of all education programs. This position is full-time and supports the NAA Department of Education. 

Essential Job Duties:
  1. Manage the development of in-person and virtual education programs and events including: managing volunteer committees and task forces, scheduling and attending meetings (in-person and virtual), selecting topics and subject matter experts, assisting speakers and volunteers in development of content, taking detailed meeting notes for documentation and reference, follow-up work as needed, online education SCORM course programing, evaluating each program/event.
  2. Manage committee volunteers and education program speakers to ensure subject matter is taught in a manner conducive to higher learning and content is relevant to the target audience.
  3. Update old designation class content to modern formats with current information, create new content as necessary, coordinate content re-write teams and deliverables as requested.
  4. Create and manage production schedule and deliverables for each education program and special project to ensure timely completion.
  5. Coordinate with the learning management system (LMS) vendor, NAA marketing, and other NAA staff to ensure efficient setup of education programs and visibility on the NAA website and social media
  6. Update and maintain processes, resolve discrepancies, and report recommended changes.
  7. Work collaboratively with education team in the development and maintenance of all education programs.
  8. Use association management system (NaylorAMS), learning management system (PathLMS), instructional design software (Articulate/Storyline 360), virtual meetings (Zoom & Teams), project management software (Asana), Microsoft Office suite software, and Google apps to accomplish education programs and projects efficiently.
  9. Provide onsite and online program execution as requested; provide assistance to education team and NAA staff at in-person and virtual events as requested.
  10. Provide customer service by answering all education related questions for both members and non-members.
  11. Other Duties as Assigned.

Required Experience, Education and Job Skills:

  3. Ability to manage multiple programs and committees in various stages
  4. Ability to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. - Expert Level strongly preferred
  5. Ability to quickly learn new software – NaylorAMS, PathLMS, Articulate/Storyline 360, Zoom, Teams, Google Drives, DropBox, BadgeCert, Asana, and other systems and platforms; previous experience in any of these is a plus
  6. Must be able to use multi-line phone, computer, copiers, printers, scanners, fax machines, projectors, microphones, etc.
  7. Exceptional customer relations skills
  8. Excellent communication skills
  9. Adult education experience preferred
  10. Volunteer management experience strongly preferred
  11. Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
Environmental / Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift boxes up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to spend extended periods of time in front of computer screen. Must be able to spend long amounts of time on your feet on concrete occasionally. Must be able to work in office regularly and remotely during event travel approximately two to three weeks over the course of the year. All physical requirements listed can be accommodated based on respective limitations of incumbent.
