Summary
NO WEEKENDS! NO NIGHTS! And a cleaning company that cleans the center at night!
Assistant teachers are responsible for the supervision of up to 8 children ages 6 weeks to 36 months under the guidance of a classroom teacher.
Duties Responsibilities include:
- Using positive discipline techniques to support independence, self-regulation, and social skills
- Supporting children in developing self-help skills
- Record keeping
- Communicating with families
- Maintaining confidentiality
- Maintaining conduct and professionalism
- Maintaining a safe, learning environment
- Implementing curriculum that supports children's growth and development in alignment with the CTELDS
- Gathering data regarding children's growth and development in alignment with the CTDOTS
- Maintaining required certifications - CPR/First Aid, Medication Administration, Background checks, CT Charts-A-Course Registry, current statement of good health, Covid vaccinated
- Demonstrating reliability and punctuality
Requirements Assistant teachers must be at least 18 years old with at least a high school diploma or equivalent
Experience working with young children, preferably 3 references
Reliable transportation
Ability to SMILE: Smile, Make others feel special, provide Information, Listen, Engage with children
Nice To Haves Evidence of formal Early Childhood Education coursework will increase pay rate upon hire
