Job Description The Dispatcher is the Deliveries team member responsible for managing communication between drivers, accounts receivable (AR) team members, and customer service and sales representatives to ensure smooth delivery operations throughout IGF's Mid-Atlantic region.
Duties and Responsibilities 1. Ensure all drivers are dispatched on time (dispatch times vary and are designated by region)
2. Monitor deliveries via IGF's dispatch operating system, Route 4 Me & Geotab; provide delivery statuses as necessary
3. Serve as the drivers' primary point of contact; communicate any delivery issues with the appropriate parties, including drivers, customers, AR team members, and customer service and sales representatives
4. Verify and mitigate mis-picks, shorts, and other shipping issues with warehouse personnel, especially inventory team members
5. Coordinate second service deliveries: work with the Delivery Coordinator to make sure a truck is available; assign order selection; print pick sheets; and ensure the truck's timely departure
6. Receive returns and put away returns from Southern Virginia routes
7. Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications (Required)- Proactive, quick-thinking, problem-solving approach to work
- Excellent organization and data-entry skills
- Strong attention to detail and solid written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Bilingual communication skills (English and Spanish)
- Ability to build and maintain relationships across teams, departments, customers, and vendors
- Ability to think analytically to decipher information; using logic to address work-related issues and problems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Dynamics, Excel, and Word) and other tech skills, including use of email, multi-line phone system, and text
- Must have a good driving record with ability to obtain a DOT in case trucks need to be moved around
Qualifications (Preferred)- Prior dispatch experience
- Familiarity with Dispatch Track or a similar software
- Innovation; creativity and alternative thinking to develop new ideas and answers to work-related barriers to positive outcomes
Physical Requirements - Must be able to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to bend, lift (at least 55 lb.), stretch, and climb (including ladders)
- Must be able to sustain prolonged periods of standing and walking
- Must be able to work across temperature zones (dry/refrigerated/frozen)
- Requires bending, sitting, standing, walking, use of hands, arms, legs, eyes, and voice
