Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITIES:

1. Establish and maintain communication with the NAIA, WHAC and other SIDs internally and externally on a local, regional and national scale.

2. Maintain relationships and supporting Lourdes' athletic teams, coaches and administration.

3. Expand public awareness and special interest stories of the college's intercollegiate athletics program through media contacts, publications and social media.

4. Work with the coaches to keep and prepare athletic event and player statistics

5. Prepare news releases for athletic-related stories, including for Lourdes' athletes' hometown publications. Take photographs, video and conduct interviews for home sporting event and forwarding information to other SID's as needed.

6. Process information from other SID's for away competitions.

7. Maintain the Athletics Department website including game results and stories, statistics, student-athlete profiles, rosters, schedules, photo galleries and all photos, staff updates, archive and history, and video content.

8. Oversee all aspects of pre-game, in-game and post-game communications, including game previews, press releases, game stories and statistical coverage.

9. Oversee web streaming for all home events and manage students that volunteer or work in athletics such as broadcaster.

10. Respond to incoming sports media calls by providing timely and accurate information.

11. Identify sports media outlets that Lourdes should utilize to reach targeted audiences.

12. Seek new ideas and programs to enhance the athletics department.

13. Oversee the assistant SID with game management, news releases and social media information.

14. This position requires nights and weekends and possible holidays in covering Lourdes athletic events.

15. Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: Desired qualifications in sports management, communications, journalism, or related field preferred with two to three years' experience working in sports media. Demonstrated experience in website management, statistics, video production and proficient in traditional and social media skills. Demonstrates leadership skills and the ability to work as a team. Administer and manage all phases of sport information according to the athletic policy and procedures.
