Job Description

Scholar Rock's Corporate and Business Development (C&BD) team is responsible for Corporate Strategy, Corporate Development, Business Development, Inorganic Value Creation, maximizing pipeline progress, de-risking, and non-dilutive financing. Reporting to the CBO, this role focuses on leading financial assessments and valuations for business development transactions such as in-licensing, out-licensing, mergers, or co-development partnerships. The role involves working closely with the CBO and cross-functional teams (Finance, R&D, Commercial, Legal) to develop detailed financial models and forecasts, supporting the strategic evaluation of potential deals. This role represents BD efforts and leading short-term cross-functional teams in a matrix environment. Key Responsibilities: Valuation Modeling: Building and managing complex valuation models, including discounted cash flow (DCF), net present value (NPV), and scenario-based analysis for Projects, Pipeline, Company, etc. Cross-functional Collaboration: Partnering with teams to gather data and align on key assumptions for deal valuation and execution. Deal Analytics: Analyzing financial terms, assessing deal drivers, risks, and opportunities, and preparing reports for senior management and investment committees. Post-deal Analysis: Supporting ongoing evaluation of deal performance, ensuring alignment with the company's financial goals, and conducting impairment tests when necessary. Industry and Market Analytics: Keeping up to date on analyst/broker reports and trends of value and deal comps in key markets and development sectors pertinent to SRRK. Working with the CBO and Finance to manage external banker, accounting, and audit relationships and deliverables Preparation of business documents, executive and board presentations concerning deal analytics, valuation analysis, and in partnership with Finance pro forma financial modeling Coordinate with CBO and executive management for business development strategy and strategic planning development Required Qualifications 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, with a focus on financial modeling and business development transactions. Proven expertise in managing complex, global deals. Strong knowledge of the drug development and commercialization process, as well as industry trends and competitive landscapes.
