Job Description

Location: Remote (with 25-50% travel to Nashville, Knoxville, or Columbia, TN for on-site feedback meetings and new provider training)

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM

Salary: $105K - $130K

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Medical Coding to oversee our coding department. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of medical coding procedures and regulations and experience managing a team of coders. This role involves ensuring accurate and compliant medical coding, providing educational training to physicians and staff, and effective communication with providers and clinical team members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of the medical coding department.
• Ensure accurate and compliant medical coding.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures.
• Train and mentor medical coders.
• Collaborate with other departments to integrate coding into the healthcare process.
• Provide education/training to providers and staff.
• Conduct meetings and coding reviews with physicians and mid-level providers.
• Travel 25-50% within middle TN for on-site feedback meetings and new provider training.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of managerial experience in a coding team.
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10, CPT-4, and HCPCS II coding systems.
• CPC or CCS-P certification (or equivalent) with ongoing continuing education.
• Experience in conducting coding education for staff, physicians, and mid-level providers.
• Team-oriented, adaptable, and strong problem-solving skills.
