Location: New Bern, North Carolina
Schedule: Part-time, Monday – Friday, 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour

Job Overview

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a dedicated Direct Service Provider (DSP) to support adults and children with disabilities in New Bern, NC. If you're passionate about helping others and making a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities, this is the role for you.

As a DSP, your key responsibilities will include:

Transition to Employment:

• Assist individuals with job exploration, work-based learning, and workplace readiness training.
• Coach individuals during Job Club, volunteer work, and job shadowing.
• Provide on-the-job training and model appropriate work behavior.
• Help develop activities with the Transition Coordinator.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Provide care in individuals' homes and transport them as needed within the local community.
• Assist individuals in maintaining and developing skills for greater independence at home and in the community.
• Offer respite for families under the supervision of a program supervisor.

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following qualifications:

• Education : High School diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree preferred.
• Skills : Knowledge of the labor market, community services, and supported employment. Skills in writing task analysis and job training are a plus.
• License & Transportation : Valid North Carolina driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation for occasional travel.
• Other : Must pass a criminal background check.
