Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and creative Contract Marketing Specialist to own and execute our digital marketing strategy. This is a hands-on role for a marketer who lives and breathes social media, understands the unique challenges and opportunities of the cannabis industry, and can drive engagement and sales through compelling content. You will be the voice of our brand across all digital channels, responsible for building our community, launching campaigns, and working directly with influencers to amplify our reach.

Key Responsibilities:

• Content Creation & Storytelling:
  • Research, write, and publish engaging blog posts on topics like cannabis education, product spotlights, industry news, and wellness.
  • Create high-quality, brand-appropriate content (photos, short-form video, graphics) for all social platforms, with a heavy focus on TikTok, Instagram, and Reels.
• Social Media Management:
  • Develop and manage the social media content calendar across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and other relevant platforms.
  • Foster community growth and engagement by actively responding to comments, messages, and user-generated content.
  • Stay on top of social media trends and algorithm changes to ensure our content remains relevant and effective.
• SMS & Marketing Automation:
  • Manage our SMS marketing platform (experience with SpringBig is a significant plus).
  • Build and segment contact lists, craft compelling copy for promotional and informational texts, and schedule campaigns to drive foot traffic and sales.
  • Analyze SMS campaign performance and suggest optimizations.
• Influencer & Community Partnerships:
  • Identify, outreach, and manage relationships with local and niche cannabis influencers.
  • Coordinate influencer collaborations, gifting, and paid partnerships to increase brand awareness and credibility.
  • Track and report on the ROI of influencer campaigns.
• Compliance & Brand Safety:
  • Ensure ALL marketing content and campaigns strictly adhere to state and local cannabis advertising regulations.
  • Maintain a brand voice that is professional, compliant, and engaging.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a digital marketing role, preferably within the cannabis, CPG, or wellness industries. (A portfolio of your work is required for consideration).
• A demonstrated passion for and understanding of the cannabis industry and its legal landscape.
• Hands-on experience creating viral-worthy content for TikTok and Instagram Reels. You know what makes a video stop a scroll.
• Experience with SMS marketing platforms; proficiency with SpringBig is a huge advantage.
• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills with the ability to adapt tone for blogs, social captions, and SMS.
• Experience managing influencer relationships from discovery to execution.
• A self-starter who can work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must be based in or very familiar with Boston and its local culture
• Portfolio or case studies showing past success required

Contract Details & Compensation:

• This is a contract position for an initial 3-6 month term.
• Estimated hours per week: 20 Hours
• Compensation: $25-$40/hour
