Position Summary

We are hiring a Product Design Engineer to support our operations in Rogersville and Springfield, MO. This role will primarily be responsible for product design engineering of aftermarket pick-up truck bed covers (a.k.a. Tonneau Covers) and related components for RealTruck’s initiatives. Projects and work will include conceptual development all the way through start of production, as well as vehicle application engineering.

Position requirements:

• Evaluates products and systems by designing and conducting research programs; applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and materials.
• Confirms system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods; testing properties.
• Develops products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials; soliciting observations from operators.
• Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
• Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and system capabilities; confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.

Education and Experience:

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering field with three or more years of hands-on engineering experience.
• Lean or similar continuous improvement knowledge and experience.
• Software Experience: 2-D/3-D CAD/CAM software, ERP Software, Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of PPAP process a plus.
