Education/Experience Required: 3-5 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, with direct exposure to field operations.



Job Description:


Our client, a leading Oil & Gas Resources company, is seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to support their Data Science department within the Operational Technology division. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience, including some field experience in the Energy sector, specifically in drilling and completions, and demonstrated proficiency in managing and analyzing time-series data. This role is crucial for developing and implementing data-driven solutions aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and reducing risks.



Responsibilities:

Data Management & Pre-Processing:

  • Efficiently manage large datasets, ensuring data is meticulously cleaned, accurate, and primed for analysis.
  • Conduct rigorous QA/QC checks on databases to uphold data integrity and reliability.
  • Execute pre-processing of time-series data, preparing it for integration across various systems.

Data Utilization & Analysis:

  • Utilize the Snowflake data lake and other integrated systems to access and analyze data.
  • Develop and prepare datasets for critical use cases, including enhancing production and optimizing well completions.
  • Integrate drilling sensor data with additional metadata to mitigate risks and optimize operational costs.
  • Use SQL and Python to perform data analyses, supporting the Data Science team in extracting actionable insights.
Skills & Qualifications:

Industry Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, with direct exposure to field operations.
  • Deep understanding of the specific types of data generated by Oil & Gas activities.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Proficient in SQL and Python, with practical experience in their application within data science.
  • Experience with time-series data and its application in operational technology.

Analytical Skills:

  • Strong analytical capabilities, with a proven ability to interpret complex datasets and generate actionable insights.
  • Experience in data cleansing, pre-processing, and quality assurance.

Project Management:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of data insights.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the capacity to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
