Corporation Bus Mechanic / Grounds Supervisor Terms of Employment: 260 day contract
Reports to: Superintendent
Summary: This person serves as the primary bus mechanic for the Corporation. Additionally, this person serves as the direct lead for keeping the grounds landscaped and maintained.
Certification/License Requirements:
- Have Class A Commerical Driver's License (CDL) with P & S Endorsements or must be obtained within 90 days of hire
- Have Pesticide Applicator's License or must be obtained within 90 days of hire
Essential Functions: - Fuel all Corporation buses and mini-buses as needed
- Service and maintain all Corporation-owned buses
- Diagnose problems and work with the Superintendent to determine if it can be fixed in-house or through an outside service center
- Perform needed repairs to all Corporation-owned buses
- Prepare bus reports, repair and service records, assignment of buses
- Prepare all Corporation-owned buses for bi-annual bus inspection
- Assist with SP driver certification and Bus Driver certification with potential candidates
- Able to drive bus routes, as needed
- Maintain and service Corporation-owned lawn equipment
- Winterize all water sources at fields, concessions areas, and outdoor buildings
- Assist with snow/ice removal on sidewalks and parking lots
- Assist with leaf and tree removal on grounds
- Maintain landscaping at FP, FES and sports fields
- Determine and coordinate when trees need removed from grounds
- Set sprinkler system on fields. Check and repair bad sprinkler heads
- Keep all sports fields watered properly
- Mow and maintain sports fields at FP and CCI
- Apply fertilizer to all sports fields
- Ensure cleanliness of sports facilities before and after events
- Keep debris cleaned out of drains in front of baseball concessions
- Steam clean all grills in concession areas at FP and CCI
- Assist in movement of portable bleachers
- Coordinate the readiness of equipment for sports seasons (Track mats, tennis nets, soccer nets, etc.)
- Paint trash cans, picnic tables, etc as needed
- Repair broken equipment and other grounds equipment
- Attend required workshops for pesticide certification
Additional Duties: - Perform other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent
Physical Duties / Work Conditions: - Ability to physically exert up to fifty pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to work in various outdoor weather conditions, such as extreme heat / cold
- Occassional exposure to hazardous materials and loud noises
