Overview Expected pay for this position is $26.46 - $31.13/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. POSITION SUMMARY: The Hospice Pastoral Care staff member is responsible for providing spiritual and emotional support and counseling to patients/families within the boundaries of the patient/family desires and belief system. The Hospice Bereavement Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and directing bereavement services to patients and families. The Bereavement Coordinator works closely with other members of the hospice team in assisting with holistic care of patients and families. Provides individual and group counseling, facilities grief support group, and coordinates memorial services. The Bereavement Coordinator shall demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the emotional and psychosocial needs from all age groups. Responsible for making visits in various settings, and working evenings or weekends when assigned. Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education • Required: Knowledge of religious philosophy and guidance/bereavement counseling at a level normally acquired through completion of an accredited religious seminary or theological school. * Pref: Bachelor Degree or experience in the practice of counseling with a variety of age groups or previous experience in the treatment of bereavement. Required: Clinical pastoral education (CPE) training and experience in working with life threatening illness and death. Experience • Required - Minimum of one to two years' experience in providing pastoral care to persons within a medical setting preferred and/or one year of parish experience. * Preferred: previous experience in bereavement, clinical counseling. CPE training and experience in working with life threatening illness and death. Knowledge of Catholic sacramental of moral theology. * Preferred: Chaplain certification with NACC or APC Required - Provides own transportation and auto insurance and abides by all laws, rules and recommendations for safe driving while on duty. Maintains a valid driver's license. Other skills or knowledge
  • Knowledge of state, federal and JCAHO regulations
  • Computer skills
  • Knowledge of EPIC preferred
  • CPR encouraged but not required
  • Ability to work independently and execute own work load
