The Work…
For our small company, this is a critical role. Our Controller will oversee and manage the financial operations for our growing construction company .
Reporting directly to our CEO , this is a new position supervising one Junior Accountant, in our comfortable offices located in Westborough, MA
Key Responsibilities:
ü Hands on Financial Management and Reporting : Responsible for all accounting functions including AR, AP, payroll, GL, job costing, cash management and tax filings. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
ü Generate and review financial reports for management, providing insight into financial performance, trends, and analyzing data to drive opportunities for improvement.
ü Project Costing: Collaborate with project managers to track and report on project costs, ensuring profitability and efficient resource allocation.
ü Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a junior accountant
ü Responsible insurance renewals, subcontracted services, vendors and audit preparation and HR
What You Can Bring to the Table:
ü Minimum of 3 years in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years within the construction related industry
ü Working knowledge of construction accounting, project cost management, and job costing systems.
ü Proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise accounting software, Excel, and financial reporting.
ü Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
ü Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
ü Ability to ensure accuracy in all financial reporting and processes.
ü Commitment to integrity, excellence, and the highest standards of ethics
