Job Description

LHH is working with a company in the Fort Worth area that is looking for a new Controller. The Controller is the senior accounting leader responsible for managing the financial close process, internal controls, financial reporting, treasury functions, tax compliance, and multi-entity consolidations. This role ensures financial accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and government contracting regulations, while also providing support for strategic decision-making for the executive leadership team and key stakeholders such as banks, sureties, and ownership.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Oversee the consolidation of financial statements and reporting to the executive team, bank, and surety.
  • Maintain strong internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP, FAR, and DCAA requirements.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on financial strategy, risk management, and capital planning.
  • Supervise teams handling Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, General Ledger Accounting, Treasury, and Project Accounting.
  • Manage banking relationships, treasury operations, cash flow forecasting, and working capital management.
  • Oversee compliance for multi-state taxes, including franchise, sales & use tax, and property tax filings.
  • Ensure audit readiness for financial statement reviews and lender/bonding requirements.
  • Drive automation and process improvements in financial systems and reporting.
  • Oversee the ERP system, ensuring correct configuration and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with IT and finance teams to implement technology solutions that enhance financial reporting.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA required).
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience, ideally in government contracting or multi-entity environments.
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, multi-entity accounting, and internal controls.
  • Experience in government contracting or service-based industries preferred.
  • Strong experience with ERP systems (e.g., Jamis Prime, Deltek Costpoint, SAP, Oracle).
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, financial modeling, Power Query).
  • Ability to clearly communicate financial concepts to various stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities.
